We’re seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to lead safety initiatives at our four facilities in the Midwest (Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa). In this hands-on role, you’ll be instrumental in reducing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety across our operations. Pay range for this position is $64,000-$67,000 annually

Specifically here is what you'll do in the role:

  • Assist field and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including compliance, inspections, and citations with the goal of reducing the number of reportable and/or lost time incidents and claim exposure.
  • Represent Company for OSHA visits, coordinate corporate response to OSHA audits, analyze and report relevant statistics for both internal and external purposes.
  • Ensure and maintain necessary record keeping, including all safety and accident reports in accordance with established guidelines and assisting with workers compensation issues and programs.
  • Conduct onsite safety visits and audits at distribution facilities and prepares results and action items for the facility on a regular basis. Visits include safety training, OSHA compliance review, workers’ compensation issues, and auto and tractor-trailer safety.
  • Review company accident statistics and equipment; make recommendations for correction of problem areas including but not limited to: drivers licenses and credential review, equipment review, fire codes and other safety driven issues.
  • Participate in safety committees at each facility.

Do you have the following?

  • Education in occupational safety, business or relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel to our facilities within the Midwest region (up to 75%)
  • Knowledge of current state and federal regulations such as OSHA, DOT, etc. and stays informed of new regulations.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required. OSHA 501 Certification a plus.
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in the safety profession, preferably within a distribution environment.
  • Clear and concise written/oral communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with training employees.
  • Expertise in applying safety knowledge, data analysis and facilitation skills to develop solutions to a variety of problems.
