Job Description

The Axel Group is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our client’s team out of Sarasota County, Florida. This firm, a national homebuilder, is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and is looking for enthusiastic attitudes and team players to join their success!

The Purchasing Agent will support the division’s purchasing department and assist in the clerical tasks of sourcing for equipment, goods, and services.

** Entry level candidates with an education in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics are encouraged to apply**

** Professionals with experience working within purchasing/procurement/buying in other industries are encouraged to apply **

• Maintain vendor packets and qualifications
• Requests for pricing, load price changes
• Revising/updating features lists
• Updating projects vendor lists
• Pricing and distributing design changes
• Keeping all plans updated and in stock
• New project product binders
• Keep the office organized
• Coordinate all paperwork for vendors
• Process purchase orders, change orders and notices to proceed
• Create and maintain contract files
• Research invoice or purchase order issues as needed
• Prepare bid packages

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• 6+ months of related purchasing experience and/or training
• Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, etc.), preferred
• Proficiency within Excel
