Job Description

Adfero seeks a full-time copywriter to develop compelling, creative copy and liaise across our talented account and creative teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead copywriting across multiple public affairs and issue advocacy-focused accounts.
  • Develop messaging guidelines and language for client campaigns across channels.
  • Work closely account teams, designers, and web developers to execute concepts and materials to support communication strategies.
  • Write copy for websites, social/digital posts, video scripts, blogs, marketing collateral, and more.
  • Coordinate with clients and client teams on content strategy and deliverables.
  • Provide feedback to other team members who also write for clients to improve their quality of work.
  • Contribute to writing and copy-editing proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain copywriting best practices across accounts.

Client work will vary between trade associations, nonprofits, corporations, the federal government, as well as Adfero branded initiatives. All of this work will be done in a collaborative environment working across creative, account, and interactive teams.

Qualifications

There are many skills we consider, but some things we look for include:

  • 4-6 years of copywriting experience in a client-facing environment, agency experience a plus
  • A Bachelor’s degree or BFA in a related discipline and/or a comprehensive written portfolio
  • Experience copywriting in highly regulated industries and/or for different channels
  • The ability to prioritize, adjust and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a quick-turnaround environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to present and talk through approach to internal and external audiences
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while independently managing projects
  • Interest in and knowledge of DC public affairs and issue advocacy

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $95,000 annually.
