About the Role

We’re looking for a Building Automation Technician to join a small but expanding controls division. In this hybrid role, you’ll install, program, and service building automation systems while also supporting mechanical HVAC service work. Ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day tasks and wants to grow their controls skills within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, wire, and program Distech Controls building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
• Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC control systems in commercial and industrial settings
• Collaborate with HVAC technicians and project teams to integrate controls with mechanical systems
• Support HVAC service work on equipment, including RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, and more
• Interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and sequences of operation
• Optimize system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and functionality
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records through digital platforms
• Adhere to all safety standards and company procedures while on site

Key Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of experience working with BAS/BMS systems such as Distech, Johnson Controls, and Niagara.
• Hands-on HVAC service or installation experience
• Knowledge of control theory, HVAC systems, and low-voltage wiring
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and wiring schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in field environments
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• EPA certification
