Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Technology Sector

Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA)

Company: Confidential (Retained Search via Pen Pioneer LLC)

Compensation: $275,000 – $325,000 base salary + performance bonuses + equity options

About the Role

Pen Pioneer has been exclusively retained to lead a confidential executive search for a visionary Chief Executive Officer in the technology sector. This San Francisco-based opportunity is for a well-funded, growth-stage company at a pivotal inflection point—ready to scale operations, enhance product innovation, and pursue strategic partnerships.

The incoming CEO will lead cross-functional teams, drive business development, and collaborate with the board to position the company as a category leader. This is a hybrid role, requiring regular in-person presence in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce desired results and align with the company’s mission and vision
  • Drive revenue growth, product expansion, and scalable processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, partners, and key stakeholders
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing leadership team
  • Represent the company at industry events, with the press, and in public-facing engagements

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as CEO or in a senior executive leadership role in the tech industry (preferably SaaS, AI, or infrastructure tech)
  • Track record of scaling companies through high-growth phases or successful exits
  • Strong grasp of corporate finance, fundraising, and board governance
  • Excellent communicator with deep understanding of the startup-to-enterprise journey
  • Ability to manage technical and non-technical teams effectively
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in technology organizations
  • Prior experience working with venture-backed startups
  • Strong operational and strategic background
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required

Compensation Package:
