Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Estimator to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects for both private and public sectors with values from $75,000-$10M, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and cost analyses for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Solicit, evaluate and negotiate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements and address any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals and presentations.
  • Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives during the pre-construction phase.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or PlanSwift.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, subcontractors and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
