Position Summary

The Hospital Contract Manager at Checkpoint Surgical is a strategic partner responsible for overseeing, establishing, renewing, and negotiating critical hospital, and vendor contracts. This role ensures full lifecycle contract management from initiation through renewal, aligning with compliance, risk mitigation, KPI performance, and enterprise goals. You’ll work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Compliance, and Executive teams to craft smart, agile agreements that power our mission.

This is not your average contract management role — it’s a chance to work with one of the most accomplished teams in the medical device space and make an immediate, lasting impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Negotiate & Draft Contracts: Lead the establishment, renewal, and negotiation of hospital purchase agreements.
  • Lifecycle Oversight: Own the entire contract lifecycle — intake, version control, execution, performance tracking, renewals, and termination — using modern Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools.
  • Contracting Strategy: Ensure all contracts comply with regulatory, legal, while meeting internal goals and standards. Spot risks early and offer smart mitigation strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assess performance against team and company KPIs. Drive accountability and improvements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with multiple departments to align contract strategies with business priorities.
  • Template & Playbook Development: Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal workflows for scalability and speed.
  • Training & Enablement: Help train cross-functional teams on contract compliance and negotiation best practices.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in healthcare, medical device, IT, or biotech contract management.
  • Expertise: Working knowledge of hospital purchasing, healthcare compliance (HIPAA, Anti-Kickback, Stark, ACA, etc.), strong negotiation skills, and a knack for contract language.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using CLM platforms, e-signature tools, and contract analytics.
  • Detail-Oriented: Organized, precise, and committed to getting it right under pressure.
  • Collaborative: Proven ability to build trust and partner with Legal, Procurement, and C-level stakeholders.
  • Business-Minded: Understands how contracts affect bottom-line performance and can translate legal language into strategic decisions.
  • Agile: Thrives in fast-paced, startup-like environments and adapts quickly to change.

Preferred Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications like CPCM, CCCM (NCMA), or relevant paralegal credentials are a plus.
  • Experience with hospital purchasing, vendor sourcing, or healthcare contracting is highly desirable.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary: $100,000 – $140,000+ (DOE) + bonus + equity opportunities.
  • Benefits That Start Day One: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, FSA/HSA
  • Career Growth: Training, mentorship, and leadership exposure
  • Retirement Support: 401(k) with generous employer match
