Construction Superintendent – Commercial General Contractor – Houston, TX

Ground-Up Projects Across K-12, Healthcare, Religious, Office & Warehouse Sectors

Our client, a well-established and reputable General Contractor based in Houston , is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality commercial construction projects from the ground up.

The Role:

As the on-site leader, the Construction Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Managing day-to-day field operations and overall project execution
  • Enforcing safety standards and site compliance (OSHA and company protocols)
  • Coordinating subcontractors, trades, and suppliers
  • Driving project schedules to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting
  • Acting as the main point of contact for field-related client communication

Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Superintendent on ground-up commercial projects
  • Strong track record working on K-12, healthcare, religious, office, or warehouse projects
  • Houston market experience with a deep understanding of local building codes, regulations, and subcontractor base
  • Consistent work history with long tenures at previous employers (no frequent job-hopping)
  • Must provide a project list showing relevant ground-up projects
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or Procore scheduling modules)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
  • Proven leadership and communication skills – able to motivate teams and manage conflict
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and quality control processes
  • Familiarity with digital project management platforms (Procore preferred)
  • Current OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain before start)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
