Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee vertical construction projects within the concourse and terminal areas at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA). This role will support both new construction and renovation projects, ensuring all work meets project specifications, safety and regulatory standards, and stakeholder expectations.

The Construction Manager will coordinate daily with contractors, airlines, ABIA operations, environmental teams, and executive leadership. This position requires strong communication, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex field operations in a dynamic airport environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on vertical building projects
  • Demonstrated aviation-related construction experience, including terminal work or airport improvement projects
  • Ability to successfully pass a TSA criminal background check
  • Strong understanding of environmental codes and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, SharePoint
  • Familiarity with building codes, design documents, and contract specifications
  • Valid Driver’s License

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of vertical concourse & terminal construction, ensuring compliance with design, contract, and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate daily activities with contractors, airlines, operations, environmental teams, and ABIA executives
  • Review and evaluate contractor schedules, monitor progress, and identify risks or delays
  • Oversee QA/QC plans, safety programs, and logistics plans
  • Support change management, scope development, and approval processes
  • Lead OAC meetings, punch walks, mockup reviews, and site inspections
  • Verify installed quantities, contractor pay applications, and cost tracking
  • Provide field oversight, inspection reports, and documentation of deficiencies
  • Support environmental compliance and site safety monitoring with AUS and ROCIP teams
  • Participate in GMP reviews, change order negotiations, and budget oversight
