Reports to: SVP, Property Asset Manager

About the Role:

Maverick Real Estate Partners is a private equity fund manager that invests in loans secured by commercial real estate located in NYC. Maverick is investing its 7th discretionary fund and has over $700 million in AUM. Maverick is seeking to hire an Asset Management Analyst (“Analyst”) to maximize the value of property it owns (“Real Estate Owned” or “REO”) as well as property that is collateral to non-performing loans (“NPLs”) that it owns. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with property level expertise to learn how to apply those skills in concert with investment decision making.

This analyst will work closely with Maverick investment professionals to optimize decision-making and help deliver superior risk-adjusted returns to our investors. The ideal candidate is analytical, autonomous, and enthusiastic about solving problems and creating and monitoring strategies. The role requires close collaboration with external and internal parties, requiring excellent communication skills, high energy, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and solve problems from the office as well as the field.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage third-party property managers and oversee the transition from NPL to REO 
  • Ensure proper insurance coverage, tax, and utility payments of all property
  • Conduct site visits and prepare property condition reports
  • Coordinate with Investments, Data Strategy, and Finance teams to formulate strategy and streamline operational and financial reporting
  • Organize key property information during acquisitions and dispositions
  • Coordinate with brokers on asset sales
  • Ensure properties have necessary service contracts 
  • File government forms (DHCRs, RPIEs, etc.)
  • Bid out and manage vendors
  • Assist with the development of a 365 key hotel in midtown Manhattan

Prior Experience & Qualifications:

  • Prior technical property level experience from engineering, architecture, construction, property management, or other related roles.
  • Degrees in architecture or engineering a plus.
  • Comfort in excel and financial modeling.
  • Experience taking the lead in engaging third parties and solving problems.
  • Construction requisition and draw experience a plus.

Maverick Real Estate Partners offers a competitive total compensation and benefits package including base salary, experience, skill set, and location. Base salary for the Analyst role starts at $100,000. For those in eligible roles, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions as well as that of the Company. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with employer match as well as medical, dental and vision insurance plans. Generous vacation, sick leave, and parental leave policies. All new hires participate in Maverick’s intensive training program.
